Workshops

Science Slam

famelabThe “Science Slam” is an innovative format of science communication. Scientists get on stage and present their research as entertaining and understandable as possible. The Science Slam will be organised by Dipl.-Ing. Bernhard Weingartner. Weingartner appears in national TV, radio and print media on scientific topics, has written two popular books on physics and teaches science and communication at the Vienna University of Technology and at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Teen Science Slam

The challenge is to step on the stage, try to get the public attention to the topic and keep them interested and entertained. Whether with props or without aids, they will introduce their own research topic understandable and clear to win the hearts and minds of the audience. Each table will be managed by one researcher to get in contact with the people for networking and the discussion of new ideas. Executives Panel Discussion

hands-people-woman-meetingThe STEM Executives Panel Discussion involves 3-4 professionals that continued their successful scientific career later in industry and now hold management positions in leading companies. The professionals with a passion and expertise in STEM will provide information about their careers, but also share with pupils and students the challenges they had to overcome along the way. Social Activities

williA concert by by a rock band made up of engineers, who previously were researchers will take place at the end of the European Researchers’ Night. The visitors can alsoparticipate in the Researchers Rally. During the rally, they have to perform various tasks (attend a workshop, perform tasks at ongoing activities, solve scientific riddles by watching talks) to obtain points.
