Die European Researchers’ Night is a mega event that takes place every year simultaneously in several hundred cities all over Europe and beyond. The key objective of the event is to motivate and inspire youth to enjoy, understand and pursue science and technology by connecting them with outstanding scientists and innovations. beSCIENCEd is Austria’s contribution to this event, hosted by the Practical Robotics Institute Austria in partnership with the Vienna Institute of Technology (TGM).
At this event young people and adults can get insights on what it is to be a researcher and what kind of cutting-edge technology is used in modern research. The following types of activities are planned for the European Researchers’ Night:

- Teen Science Slam
- EU Corner
- Science Cafes
- CERN Webcast
- Social Activities
Interdisciplinarity plays an important role in this event and our ambition is to promote it having in mind that the presented innovations and activities integrate many domains. A focus of beSCIENCEd is on the STEM fields but other topics will be covered as well for a broader understanding of the science and its applications. Currently the draft program incorporates the following research domains: Informatics, Construction, Physics, Robotics, Health, Education, Mathematics, Mechatronics, Mobility, Geophysics, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Energy, Electronic, Biology, Automation, etc.
beSCIENCEd will be held on Friday 29.09.2017 in the afternoon from 15:00 until midnight. All activities of the beSCIENCd will be conducted in the buildings or on the premises of the Vienna Institute of Technology (TGM).
